Guide to the Vocaloid Hatsune Miku

I think that many fans of the mixed computer animation circle will not be unfamiliar to Vocaloid.

Vocaloid is a voice synthesizer software. Its signal processing part was developed through a joint research project led by Kenmochi Hideki

at the Pompeu Fabra University in

Barcelona, The country of spain in 2000 and was not actually intended to be a full commercial project. Backed by the Yamaha

Company, it developed the software into the commercial product

"Vocaloid".

Typically the software enables users to synthesize "singing" by typing in lyrics and melody. It uses synthesizing technology with specially

recorded vocals of voice actors or singers. To create a

song, the consumer must input the melody and words of the tune. A piano roll type interface is utilized to input the melody and the lyrics to these songs can be entered on each notice. The software can

change the stress of

the pronunciations, add effects such as vibrato, or change the dynamics and strengthen of the voice.

Various voice banks have been released for use with the Vocaloid synthesizer technology. Each is sold as "a

vocalist in a box" designed to work as a replacement for an actual vocalist. As

such, they are released under a moe anthropomorphism. These types of avatars are also referred to as Vocaloids, and in many cases are marketed as virtual idols; some have become on to perform at live

concerts as an on-stage discharge.
